About the Department
The Department of Public Administration is one of the premier academic departments of Islamic University, committed to high-quality teaching, empirical governance research, and nurturing ethical public leaders.
Our History & Academic Journey
The combined Department of Politics and Public Administration began its journey in 1991 at Islamic University, Kushtia. In 2015, the department officially bifurcated to establish the Department of Public Administration as a fully independent academic department under the Faculty of Social Sciences.
Since its establishment, approximately 31 batches have graduated according to departmental records. The department currently encompasses 11 faculty members and approximately 500 students. Department graduates are actively contributing across the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS), public policy institutions, international non-governmental organizations, and prominent corporate sectors worldwide.
Since the 2017-2018 academic session, the department has been following the semester system in conducting courses and examinations. The medium of instruction throughout the department is English.
